Illinois State magazine

Illinois State, the University's award-winning magazine, connects alumni to the mission, goals, people, and programs of the University through a positive, informative, and entertaining magazine. It is published quarterly, with distribution dates in February, May, August, and November.

Each issue is sent to approximately 160,000 individuals, including all alumni and members of the campus community. The most recent graduating class is added to the mailing list with each August issue.

Objectives

  • Advance the University’s interests by providing updates on the University and its goals
  • Maintain a personal link between alumni and their alma mater
  • Showcase strengths of the University’s teaching, scholarship, and research
  • Showcase alumni who have distinguished themselves in some way or whose stories educate, provoke pride in the University, or entertain
  • Present the many opportunities for alumni to remain involved and support the University
  • Bring alumni back to campus through articles and photographs
  • Reflect the University’s commitment to intellectual and social tolerance for diverse people and cultures
  • Deal with controversial campus issues—when warranted—in an unbiased, factual manner
